A creamy, iced matcha latte, where the sweetness of maple syrup and the delicate contrast of sea salt make the experience truly special.
Ingredients:
-
1-1.5 teaspoons or chashaku first harvest matcha powder
-
50 ml hot water (approx. 80°C)
-
200-250 ml cold milk (any kind – oat milk is especially delicious)
-
15 ml maple syrup
-
1 pinch of sea salt
Instructions:
-
Sieve the matcha to ensure it's lump-free.
-
Add the hot water and whisk with a bamboo whisk (chasen) or a handheld milk frother.
-
Pour the maple syrup and a tiny pinch of sea salt into the glass.
-
Then fill the glass with ice.
-
Pour in the cold milk.
-
Slowly drizzle the matcha mixture on top (it will create nice layers), then stir.
The result is a balanced, subtly salty-caramel iced matcha latte. Recommended for those who are not afraid of the exciting combination of sweet and salty flavors.
