Reliable shipping
Flexible returns
Shade-grown and hand-picked, air-dried, stone-ground, 100% pure, ceremonial-grade, GMO-free, organic matcha.
This first-harvest matcha is made from the rare Okumidori cultivar , known for its particularly smooth, umami flavor and vibrant green color. This variety is particularly suitable for making premium matcha due to its low bitterness and high chlorophyll and L-theanine content.
Chlorophyll is known for its cleansing effects, while L-theanine helps achieve calm focus – making matcha not only delicious, but also refreshing and balancing.
This is the only organic version in the collection, sourced from the volcanic soil of Kagoshima in southern Japan , where the unique microclimate results in particularly rich aromas.
Flavor notes:
roasted nutty • soft unami • extra silky • vibrant
Preparation suggestion:
Matcha is traditionally consumed in Japan during tea ceremonies, frothed with water, but it can also be enjoyed at home - either as a classic tea or as a latte.
- As a tea
Sift 1 teaspoon of matcha powder and mix with 70–80°C water (approx. 70–100 ml) until smooth and frothy. You can use a bamboo chasen or a milk frother for this. - Matcha as a latte
Dissolve 1 teaspoon of matcha powder in a little warm water, then pour over 150–200 ml of warm or cold milk – you can sweeten it to taste.
